Carey Crim is an award-winning playwright, screenwriter and graduate of Northwestern University’s acclaimed School of Speech. Her play Never Not Once was the winner of the Jane Chambers award, a finalist for the O’Neill and opened at The Park Theatre (London) to rave reviews after multiple US productions. Her drama 23 ½ Hours opened at The Park 200 (London) in September 2024. Carey adapted her play Wake for the screen and the feature film (starring Jo Koy) has won numerous film festival awards and was released by Gravitas Ventures. Morning After Grace ran to sold-out houses at The Purple Rose Theater starring Randolph Mantooth. It has continued to be produced every season at such luminary theaters as Asolo Repertory Theater, The Royal Manitoba Theater Centre, Shakespeare and Company, The Barter Theatre, Indiana Repertory Theatre, Florida Repertory Theatre, Gulfshore playhouse, Riverside Theatre, The Hippodrome, Miners Alley and many more to come. Paint Night was chosen for the 2020 Kilroys list and premiered at The Public Theatre in Maine. The Islanders opened recently at Shakespeare and Company and her comedy What Springs Forth premiered at The Purple Rose. Carey’s TV pilot Triggered was chosen for a workshop with The Orchard Project this past summer. Carey is represented by Mark Orsini at Bret Adams and Brandy Rivers at Amplified where she is developing the one-hour television drama #Blessed.
